In a bid to enhance its status as a global innovation and technology center, Hong Kong is working to strengthen ties with Saudi Arabia. This initiative was emphasized by Chief Executive John Lee during discussions with Abdullah Alswaha, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
The meeting coincided with LEAP East, a prominent international technology exhibition that is being held in Hong Kong for the first time outside its traditional Middle Eastern setting. This event has attracted numerous speakers and exhibitors from across the globe, highlighting the increasing collaboration within the international technology sector.
John Lee pointed out that hosting such a significant event signifies the expanding partnership between Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia. He highlighted Hong Kong’s strategic role as a gateway that connects international businesses to the Asian markets, suggesting that this relationship underscores the city’s growing importance in the global technology landscape.
Lee extended an invitation to Saudi companies, entrepreneurs, and technology experts, encouraging them to leverage Hong Kong as a base for expanding their operations in Asia. He emphasized that there are numerous opportunities for enhanced collaboration in areas such as innovation, technology, and investment, which could mutually benefit both regions.
