The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement urging the global community to intervene to halt any further military escalations that might exacerbate tensions in the region.
The Kingdom underscored the necessity of safeguarding Lebanon’s sovereignty and the safety of its populace, emphasizing adherence to international treaties and legal standards. It reiterated its endorsement of the Taif Agreement, which aims to reinforce the Lebanese state’s authority across its entirety.
In its statement, Saudi Arabia also called for the restriction of arms possession to the Lebanese state and its legitimate institutions, a move intended to bolster national stability, security, and effective governance within Lebanon. The emphasis on limiting weapons highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s internal stability.
